Back to Worry Free Tractor Time

Posted by Unknown on 24th Apr 2017

Good quality, great fit. Did the trick. The tires and tubes these replaced were ancient. I bought the tractor used so no idea how old they were but they were very worn, cracked and the tube stems were leaky. Take the time to wire brush all the rust and rough spots out of the inside of the wheels when you make the swap. Once cleaned up, I put a loop of Gorilla Tape around the inside to add a "cheap insurance" layer between the tube and interior wheel rivet heads. With the new shoes on the front, we're back in business without having to babysit random tire pressure drops.

    Happy with 'em

I bought an identical pair from a Miller Tire truck at an Evansville, IN show three years ago for a 1618 Power King that I use with a Woods RM42 for roadsides and woods trails where I frequently encounter black locust and hedge apple sprouts. So far I haven't had the problem with punctures and slow leaks I'd been having, and the sidewalls are not showing cracks. The pair I just bought are for my 2418 Power King and will be the third set of front tires since I bought the tractor new in 1981. I expect good service from these as well.
